GMAS Takes to the Air
Students from GMAS Aviation Course offered by the School have completed their practical flight test at Bunbury Aero Club with chief flying instructor Leith Williams. Students were required to demonstrate stall recovery, steep turns, take offs, flying compass headings and setting the aircraft up for landing configuration. The comments from students ranged from ‘awesome’ to ‘one of the best experiences of my life’.
Students are offered Aviation as an elective in Year 10 at Georgiana Molloy Anglican School where they can if they choose, partake in three scenic flights. In Year 11 students are offered either a practical flight test in an aircraft or the use of a simulator to complete the first part of the course. Students undertaking the Year 12 course put all they have learned into use. They are required to submit a flight plan and navigate in an aircraft.
