Update on Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 Influenza (Human Swine Flu) 24 August 2009

As at 24 August 2009, Australia remains in the 'Protect' phase for pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza. The 'Protect' phase recognises that the pandemic virus is now circulating widely in Australia and the rest of the world. Hence, border screening measures have been discontinued, schools are no longer closed or partially closed if students are found to have human swine flu, and household contacts of confirmed cases are not required to be home-quarantined.
