Following the appointment of our current Head of Learner Access and Early Intervention to a Principalship at a CARE School, Georgiana Molloy Anglican School (GMAS) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to assume the role of Head of Learner Access and Early Intervention.
This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping and advancing inclusive learning across the School. The role provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight to a dedicated team delivering educational support and extension programs for students from Early Learning through Year 12.
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of early intervention initiatives.
- Champion inclusive education practices across the School.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships to support seamless student transitions across educational phases.
- Build the capacity of teaching staff to meet diverse student learning needs.
- Provide high-level guidance, supervision, and professional development to the Learner Access and Early Intervention Team, comprising:
- Primary and Secondary Learning Support Coordinators
- Learning Support Teachers
- Learning Support Education Assistants
- Learner Access and Early Intervention Administrative Assistant
Reporting directly to the Principal, the Head of Learner Access and Early Intervention will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, Learning Support staff, students, and families to ensure personalized, high-quality learning experiences for students requiring additional support.
This fixed-term appointment includes a concurrent teaching component and offers a strategic leadership platform to influence learning outcomes across the School.
Selection Criteria
Experience:
- Leadership: Demonstrated capacity to lead or experience in leading teams
- Teaching: Expertise in curriculum and pedagogical design with exemplary teaching practice
- Educational Expertise: Knowledge of early intervention strategies and programs to support students with diverse learning needs
- Minimum Experience: Substantial experience in a leadership role within an educational setting, preferably in learning support or early intervention
Skills:
- Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches
- Writing: Effective communication in writing tailored to the audience
- Judgement and Decision Making: Evaluating costs and benefits to choose the most appropriate actions
